71. Academic Letter
ACADEMIC LETTER
The academic letter will be awarded to sophomores, juniors and seniors.
Requirements to obtain an academic letter are as follows:
1. 3.50 and above Grade Point Average maintained for each of the 2 semesters for 1 academic school year. 2. No grade lower than a “C” is allowed.
3. Students must be enrolled in a full schedule.
4. Students receive one chenille “E”, lamp of knowledge and bar for their initial lettering
5. Students will be eligible to receive recognition bar for each additional year of qualification.
6. Awards will be available in the fall of the following school year.
An additional bar will be awarded for maintaining the minimum GPA for two (2) additional consecutive semesters. Students transferring into Emporia High School must meet the criteria stated above. A minimum GPA will be accepted from the sending school.
